Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is the one who initiated contemporary research on the memory of children's eyewitnesses as well as the role of children as victims when in court. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has collaborated with numerous organisations and governments all over the world to conduct studies and policy issues pertaining to child victims of the legal system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. Professor Goodman is a member in a variety of professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is also a founding part of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development Practice Division and the Society for Child Policy American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
