Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American musician and sitarist. She is the youngest female and was the first person to receive the British House of Commons shield. Anoushka is a emerging star of Indian sitar. She is a student and child of Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career moving between London as well as New Delhi. When she was 13 she performed her debut performance at New Delhi. Then she moved into Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, however she's got an remarkable career in the field of singing and recording. For a long time she has been performing regularly with her father. Her debut single album Anourag in the year 1998. The album was titled the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year after. She has appeared at many important venues across the world. Her career doesn't just involve the world of music. She released Bapi The love of my life in the year 2002. It is a biographical work that is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. The year 2003 saw her appeared as a character in Dance Like a Man as an actress and Bharat Natyam dancer. Her career continues to grow and she is expected to achieve great success in the near future. Anoushka was raised in England however, she spent the majority of her youth in between London as well as Delhi. Then she moved to California and went to the high school there. She started learning to play the guitar when she was nine years old and played the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of knowledge by traveling around the globe together with the father. She appeared in Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival.
